James Patrick "Turtle" Brennan, age 82, loving brother of Maureen (the late William) Mitchell, Melanie (Joseph) Ryan, Eileen (Stephen) Kelly, Edward (Eileen) Brennan and the late John F. Jr (the late Patricia) Brennan; sharp witted uncle to his very special 17 nieces and nephews, 50 wonderful great nieces and nephews and 1 great-grandniece; devoted son of the late John F. Brennan MD and the late Ann, nee Burke, Brennan. Jim was a proud graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep and Army Veteran with 6 years of active service. His faith, family and friends were most important to him. Known to his many friends as "Turtle", he was a true sports enthusiast, dedicated long time Notre Dame Football season ticket holder and a noted Coach at the North Austin Boys Club, Oak Park Optimist and St. Luke Grammar School. Visitation Friday, March 3, 2023, 3:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 4, 2023, 10:00 a.m. until time of prayers 11:00 a.m. at Gibbons Funeral Home, 134 South York Road, (½ mile North of Saint Charles Road), Elmhurst. Mass of Christian Burial 12:00 Noon at Saint Domitilla Catholic Church, 4843 Washington, Hillside. Private Interment All Saints Catholic Cemetery, DesPlaines.
