I just wanted to share what I spoke six years ago with everybody:
Sunday was the last day I met with you.
I never thought I would get that phone call from my brother,Jimmy.
I thought my world was coming to an end when I heard you didn’t make it.
You told little Nicky, “Everything’s going to be fine.” And with that
we knew you were content with life and you did it your way.
Thanks for waiting until I took my exam and got home safely.
I miss you.
Why did you have to go?
You’re an intelligent man, but yet stubborn
Worked hard for what you had in life
And earned everything.
You loved your family very much.
You lit up a room with your good looks and smile.
I remember all the good memories we shared.
Meeting you every Saturday and eating breakfast with you.
Coming to my house just to bring a pie over.
Hearing all the stories about your childhood over and over again never got old.

I know that your watching over zach for me (i'm sure you two have made friends through the years)..and fred who just recently passed away and thanks for always being there for me..especially during tough times. Yes that is what I read four years ago to you. I can not believe it has been that long. I am not too far away from graduating college...the countdown has begun. There is not a day that does not go by that I do not think about you. Your truly an amazing person who can never be replaced. Thanks for allowing me to be the person I am today, because of you! Thanks for watching over me this semester and helping me get through student teaching. Once again thanks for guiding me in the right direction toward the man of my dreams. I am blessed to have him in my life. I am sure you had something to do with that. I miss you so much..just wish I could hear your voice one more time...take care of grandma too!

Poppa this week has been a really rough week of course. I miss you alot and you know there is not a second that goes by that i don't think of you. Sometimes I just think about you all day and just want to pick up the phone and call you. It was hard over Spring Break in California but I thought of you the whole time. I am 20 now ahh....i know you were there celebrating with me. Tons of stuff has been going on..very busy year with Purdue Student Union Board but life has been good. I went to the IFI dinner last night. It was hard cause you weren't there. I do want you to know that they did a small tribute to you and of course I almost cried. I thought it was very touching that they mentioned your name. They also mentioned how much of a great guy you were and how giving you were to everybody. :) I mentioned to tania that I miss you and she reassured me that many people miss you. Ron was there and he mentioned how much he misses you too. I have been staying busy this summer working two jobs and being with my friends...thanks for being there with me everywhere I go. I watched the cotillion video last night and cried a few times especially when I listened to some of the speeches because I wished you were there and everybody kept telling me you were there....you were there in a different way, watching me enjoy my night. I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving (a little late). I also wanted to tell you that you are truly a great person and i'm glad i got to share memories with you and your family...life without poppa at the deblasio's house will never be the same...you are missed but not forgoten....you will always be in our hearts....don't worry i will take care of crista for you....and the rest of them....we know you are looking down on us....we miss you poppa!
