James John Kantor, April 11, 2007, age 84, late of Homewood, IL, beloved husband of the late Helen, nee Bajzatt; dear father of Kathleen (Charles) Jeffrey of Rice Lake, WI, Kristine (Jeffrey) Currier of Olympia Fields, IL, James (Melinda) Kantor of Peachtree City, GA and Jeffrey (Cindy Lilja) Kantor of Mokena, IL; cherished grandfather of Amy (Takashi) Dehart, Jeffrey (Denise) and Eric (Kristi Bonner) Currier, Joshelin, Ashley and Shane Kantor and Logan Jeffrey; great-grandfather of seven; loving brother of Robert (Elsie) Kantor, the late Paul (Irene) Kantor and the late Jane (the late Ray) Ward; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Member of Wally Burns Post #8077 V.F.W., American Legion, Tilden Tech Alumni Association and Marie Irwin Senior Pool Group. Former coach with Homewood Little League, Inc., Senior Olympics participant and active in community events. Resting at the Tews Funeral Home, 18230 S. Dixie Hwy., Homewood, Friday from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Services Saturday, 11 a.m. Interment Chapel Hill Gardens South, Worth.
