James Strenk Obituary

James J. "Jim" Strenk, age 85, of Venice, Florida, passed away on January 30, 2022. He was born on July 27, 1936 in the Brighton Park community of Chicago, IL. Jim was employed at Allied Tube for 35+ years where he retired as Executive Vice President in 2001. Jim and his wife Nancy enjoyed their winters in Venice, FL and summers in Palos Park, Illinois as members of Midlothian CC.

As an active member of the Plantation G&CC since 1981, Jim enjoyed golfing, fishing and entertaining friends and family often times while playing the ukulele. J

Jim is survived by his son, Phillip (Joan) Strenk of Venice, FL; a daughter-in-law, Sharon (Steve) Strenk of Roselle, IL; grandchildren, Amanda Strenk of Huntly, IL, Emily Strenk of West Chicago, Scott (Joanna) Strenk of Salado, TX, Sarah (Troy) Simmons of Lake in the Hills, IL, Dominick (Amanda) Ruth of Tempe, AZ, Brian (Kayla) Strenk of San Antonio, TX, Jack Strenk of Venice, FL, Nick Strenk of Palos Hills, IL. Great Grandchildren, Lydia Burns, Ryan Burns, both of Huntley, IL, Nolen & Blake Simmons of Lake in The Hills, IL, Nico Ruth of Tempe, AZ.

Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Moore (Nancy) Strenk, three sons, Stephen Strenk, Vincent Strenk, William Strenk and two brothers, Robert Strenk and Edward Strenk.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice on Friday, February 18, 2022 at 11:00AM. Interment will be held at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice, IL at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to Southeastern Guide Dogs by visiting www.guidedogs.org. Farley Funeral Home in Venice, Florida is handling the arrangements. A message of condolence may be sent by visiting www.farleyfuneralhome.com.
