Khalil Gibran wrote, "For what is it to die, but to stand in the sun and melt into the wind? And when the Earth has claimed our limbs, then we shall truly dance." Dance away, Jan...you will be sorely missed by so many. Your kind spirit will remain in our hearts. We extend our deepest condolences to the Bartecki family.

To the Bartecki family, Please accept our deepest sympathies for your loss. For once I don't know what to say. I've known Ken and Jan for over 25 years. They were lucky to have had that time together. And to Ken, I'd like to say that you were always a good friend and really were a mentor to me all those years at May & Speh and I will forever be grateful. You and your lovely family are in our thoughts and prayers. I know God will give you the strength to get through this very difficult time. Take care. All our love, Scott and Judi Davis and family

My dear cousin Janet was always full of life growing up together. The Thanksgiving dinners at Aunt Lou and Uncle Bill's were awesome.
May her soul rest in the peace of our Dear Lord. Cheryl's right, Jan and Aunt Lou have a lot of catching up to do!
Love your cousins,

My sister loved life! Although her passing has saddened us all, let us find comfort in knowing that her life energy will remain with us both directly and indirectly until we, too, are called into eternal peace and united with our loved ones.
Being the first born of the siblings, she was the leader. When she experienced something in life that was awesome to her, “you must do it, too!” It didn’t matter if you shared that you tackled a black diamond ski run in Colorado, with moguls, in a mountain top snow storm, and made it to the base in one piece, . . . “you should go to this Caribbean cruise at this month for this fare, because it’s just the best thing ever!” She loved to share good things in her life and wanted us all to participate in them, too!
Her generosities within the community and with her family and friends were astounding. One cannot accomplish these things without great life love and energy.
We may question why someone who loved life so much, would be taken at such a young age. We may never know for sure, but perhaps the God of life and nature, as stated in the classic prayer, The Our Father, determined that her will has been done. It is time for the kingdom of heaven for Janet. And in honoring her life, her love, her accomplishments, and her enthusiasms that have touched all of us, she has executed a job well done.
Oh, and one more thing. I know in my heart she would want all of us to go on and live life to the fullest, and for sure, have a Halloween party!
Have fun in Heaven, dear sister, and say hello to mom.
With love,
Cheryl
