Janice Wiley nee Pinsky, passed away on April 23, 2021 at the age of 87. Janice was the cherished wife of the late Sylvan Wiley, the loving mother of Dana Wiley and the late Laura Wiley, the adored aunt of Elizabeth Becker and Ruth Krugly (Darryl Davidson), dear great aunt to Rachel Davidson, devoted cousin to Susan Klingman and Joshua Klingman, and loved friend to many. Janice was a highly regarded and dedicated clinical social worker for fifty-five years. She began her career in the Cook County Juvenile Court System, continued at Evanston Township High School, and spent forty years at Family Service of Winnetka-Northfield, a non-profit social service agency. Janice, a staunch civil libertarian, was a life-long champion of causes which advance social and economic justice and equal opportunities for everyone, especially the most vulnerable among us. As a true intellectual, Janice was an avid theatergoer and voracious reader who appreciated the tragedies of William Shakespeare and the detective novels of Robert Parker. Her unparalleled integrity, decency, warmth, and humor captivated her friends and family. She will be dearly missed.
