Dick, My thoughts are with you and your family. Jean was such a vibrant and enthusiastic human being that it is hard for me to accept the reality that she is no longer with us. Having known her since our days at Northwestern and Chi Omega, it was always a treat to get together and recall the "good old days". She will be missed by all fortunate to know her and her outstanding talents. With deepest sympathy, Pat White Schmidt

Dick,

Linda and I were saddened to hear of Jean's death. Jean was an accomplished educator but also a true leader among NU alumni of the School of Education.
Back in 2004 when you and she got off the elevator at the lobby of the Hay Adams in DC and walked into our family wedding party, it seemed after speaking with you for 30 minutes or so, you had engratiated yourselves to such an extent, you had almost become family. Jean's outgoing and caring personality will be missed and we extend our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. -Payson Wild

Dear Dick & Family,

Words cannot describe how lucky I am to have had Jean in my life. She was such a positive influence in my life and was the best Godmother I could have ever asked for. I am so grateful for the memories we shared, her kindness, love, generosity, and words of wisdom. I am really going to miss her. May God give you and your family comfort in this difficult time. I am so sorry for your loss.

Love, your godson

Dear Mr. Damisch (Richard) & Family-
Jean was a wonderful wife, mother, and friend. I always appreciated her kindness toward me and my family. We shared so many happy memories-Thanksgiving, Easter, and Northwestern graduations. My brother emailed me the obituary. Jean's accomplishments were exceptional! I know she is in heaven and if she happens to see my mother, they will have a great reunion.
Mother always admired and respected Jean.

I regret your loss.

Peace be with you.

Love,

Dear Dr. Damisch Family,
Dr. Damisch was a God send to my daughter Brigette while she attended Niles West. All the other teachers said she couldn't while Dr. D (as my daughter called her) said "Yes, you can." Thanks to Dr. D, she has, today she's happily married with a terrific job. Dr. Damisch was loving, kind, & strong. I thanked her everyday. Many children will be missing a very important part of learning without her. She will be sadly missed. Thank you & God Bless Pattie Lindgren Mother of Brigette Miller (Page)

Dear Richard and Family
I've known Jean since 4th grade - when she was one of the smallest in the class even when we graduated from high school. Her accomplishments since then have been tremendous, but that was not unexpected. What was -was her height. We all loved to see her at the Ladies Who Lunch (the Von crew)and will miss her very much.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Damisch family at this difficult time. I substitute taught for Jean during the 1980's and will always recall her thoughtful, caring ways with her students. She was always well prepared and organized as well as encouraging to me. I last saw Jean at (naturally) a theatre production at Northwestern this past summer. It was nice to catch up with Jean once again. I will always remember Jean fondly.

Mrs. Damisch was one of my teachers at Niles West, and was a life changer. Her devotion to teaching and pushing her students to be the best they can is what helped my gain Honor Roll status. I will miss you dearly.
