JoAnn "Cookie" M. Mathis (Dovgin), 75, of Naperville Since 1973 passed away on August 30, 2021. She was born on May 16, 1946, in Chicago IL. Beloved wife of Kenneth R. Mathis, for 55 years. loving mother of Jennifer (Matthew) Devine and Jessica (Michael) Brennan. Adored grandmother of Maggie, Matt Jr., Molly, Claire, and Paige Devine as well as Mackenzie, Riley, and Jack Brennan. She is also survived by her brother John Dovgin as well as many treasured nieces and nephews. Cookie was a cherished mother and grandmother who gave tirelessly to her family. Her love of children was unmistakable in her work for DuPage Medical Group Pediatrics. A consummate volunteer, Cookie taught CCD at Saints Peter and Paul in Naperville, supported Beebe Elementary School, and served for many years in Brownie leadership. Most importantly, Cookie had a strong faith and a deep, personal devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Naperville Humane Society would be appreciated.

We have always respected and held the Mathis family in high regard over the years. The Matriarch is now smiling down upon her wonderful family from above. Our heavy-hearted thoughts and prayers are with Ken and the extended family.
