John Cramer Obituary
John H. Cramer, 97, of Cape Coral, FL since 1983, formerly of Olympia Fields, IL, passed away on May 9, 2017. John was a retired insurance executive, born in 1920 and raised in East Orange, NJ. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Gertrude Cramer, his sister Catherine and his brother, Raymond. Prior to his successful career as a Sr. Vice President with CNA Insurance Co. of Chicago, he served in two theatres of war in WWII as a Second Lieutenant in the 9th Army Air Corps piloting A20, B25 and P38 aircraft. Survivors include his loving wife of 71 years, MaryEllen, his sons John (Carol) Cramer, Bruce (Adrienne) Cramer, and daughter Virginia (the late Dennis) Manke; five grandchildren Chad, Jana, Bryan, Christina and Kalyn; seven great-grandchildren and another on the way. Military funeral honors to be scheduled. Donations may be made to HonorFlight.org in honor of America's veterans for their sacrifices.To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

What a wonderful life he led, surrounded by a loving family. I had dated John in the '70s when we were at Prairie State and John brought me home one night and to this day I remember his quick sense of humor and I laughed all night

To the best boss a secretary could ever want! We worked together for over 16 years and always remained in contact since John's retirement. I always had enormous respect for him and will miss our conversations. An honorable man who will be missed by many! Rest in peace.

I knew John when I worked in the actuarial department. We were working on rates for many of the Commercial special risks. He was a wonderful person to work with and will be missed.
