John "Jack" Donnelly, 94 ¾, beloved husband of Sandra; loving father of John (Julann) Donnelly, Peggy Donnelly (Tim May), and Julie (Pat) Battistella; grandfather of John, Jared, and Jamie Donnelly, Colin (Jessica) May, Gina (Phill) Steele; proud great grandpa of Kane Steele; loving brother of the late Betty Jeanne (the late Robert) Conlin, Joan (the late Leonard) Nitti, Robert (Patricia) Donnelly, and the late William Donnelly; story-telling Uncle to a host of nieces, nephews, their children, and so many dear friends. Passed away peacefully in his sleep January 8th with his loving wife at his side. He was a long time Chicago West-Side and Elmwood Park resident and business man, proud WWII Navy veteran, owner of the ARCO Service Station (Harlem at Division in Oak Park), and employee at Loyola University Medical Center. His greatest enjoyments came from story telling, model trains, military history, playing cards and most of all large gatherings of family and friends, the more the merrier. Viewing Friday January 14th at 11AM followed by Funeral mass at 12PM at St. Cyprian Church, 2601 Clinton St, River Grove IL. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to any of the following charities that were close to Jack's heart: The American Legion, PAWS Chicago, or St Jude Children's Research Hospital

Our deepest sympathies for the loss of Jack. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. There were times when I would go to the Donnelly's house after work because of weather. " Dad" always had a puzzle going. We would also play cards and have snacks. Ty for making me feel like one of your kids.
