Dear Mrs. Felzan:
Please accept my condolences for the untimely passing of your husband Jack. I knew Jack when I was married to his good friend William Behnke. I fondly remember Jack and the celebration of his discharge from the USAF, his days as a student at Northwestern, and as a young man beginning his adult life. It was my privilege to be his friend during the events of our youth, when Jack's gifts of charm and enthusiasm, always delivered with his million-dollar smile, made every day in his company a special one. May God comfort you and your children during this time.

Mrs. Felzan,
I had not heard of your loss until yesterday and, unfortunately, could not attend this morning. I am a friend of John's from the United Air Lines law department days. Although I left within a year or so of John's arrival there, we stayed in touch as I went, first, to Motorola and eventually back into private practice. When I returned to private practice in 1997, John was still downtown and we'd periodically get together for lunch. John's wonderful attitude during his struggle was a personal inspiration to me and, of no small help when my wife recently battled breast cancer. I will personally miss John, but he left me, as he did others, with gifts that we will carry for the rest of our lives. God bless you and your children in this time. Hans

Mrs. Felzan: Years ago I worked with John at Kirkland & Ellis when he first joined the firm. He was a pleasure to work with, a genuinely warm person. He will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss.

John was a truly good person and someone I was proud to have as a friend. I admired his pride in family. We worked on the Tetra Pak facility together, where we put together a successful project and he taught me what is truly important in life.I will miss John, I am a better person because of him.

Dear Mrs. Felzan and family, I knew John from Kirkland & Ellis and am a very good friend of MaryEllen Kelly. I was Steve Neal's assistant for 20 years and had the pleasure of working with John on a couple of trials. He was a good person, very hard worker, and extremely smart. My prayers are with you all. To the entire Felzan family,
We at Christ Church Lake Forest were all privileged to have known a man of John's faith and character. My prayer is that God's peace that passeth all understanding will comfort and sustain you his family in the difficult days ahead.
Your brother in Christ,
Chris
