John Gaughan Obituary


John P. Gaughan, 81, of Arlington Heights, "bestest friend" and beloved husband for 59 years of Rose M., nee Smith; loving father of John (Kathleen), Mary (Ralph) Chapman, Maureen (Lance) Krahl, Brian (Carolyn), Colleen (David Hogaboom), Michelle (Jason Smith) Smith-Gaughan and the late Patrick; loved grandfather of 27 and great-grandfather of four; dear brother of Patrick (Lorrie), Cathleen (Mike) Mikolajczak, Margaret Mary (Mark) Zirngibl, the late James (Virginia) and the late Anna Mae. Mr. Gaughan was the owner of S&S Motor Express in Cicero for 35 years. He was also past president of the Cartage Exchange of Chicago. Visitation 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers 8:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home to Our Lady of the Wayside Church, 450 S. Mitchell Ave., for Mass at 9:30 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Fr. Patrick Peyton CSC Memorial Centre, Attymass, Ballina, County Mayo, Ireland. Funeral information and condolences www.GlueckertFH.com or 847-253-0168.
