Dear Aunt Dorothy, Rick & Cathy,
So sorry for your loss. I have nothing but fond memories of Uncle John and the entire family. I'm glad we have great memories from the past together. I remember spending alot of time at the restaurant with my folks and Grandpa Bob & Grandma Mary -- it always was a special time. I'm glad to have been a part of that era. I will keep Uncle John and you in my prayers. I'm know that God's love & your happy memories will console you during this difficult time.
Love, Gina (Perkovich) Baker

Aunt Dorothy, Rick, Maribeth, Cathy, and Tim,

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle John. I am glad that I was able to see him, and all of you, this past summer, for Mom and Dad's 60th Anniversary. I am sorry that I could not make it in for the wake and funeral, but as you know, Mom, Steve, and I were on a cruise at the time. We did have a toast and cocktail for Uncle John and all of you, on the ship Wednesday and Thursday. You were and will always be in my thoughts and prayers. May GOD Hold Uncle John and ALL of you in the PALM of HIS Hand!

Dorothy & Family:

Please accept my very deepest condolences. I hope you will remember me. I worked for you and John on the East Side. Helen M., Berdie C. and myself Anne Jurbala, we were all from Whiting, and worked together at your very fine restaurant. I had to leave in 1981, when my husband got so sick, but I have always had such happy memories of my time there as a waitress. You were such lovely people, and John was a wonderful boss, a truly kind and generous man.
I still remain in touch with Helen and Berdie, although 15 years ago, I moved with my children to Henderson, Nevada. Please know I will remember you always with great fondness. God Bless You.

Some of my memories of John and his family are more than 40 years old. As an adopted daughter from high school through college and beyond, many sleep-overs and summer weekends at the cottage were shared as part of their warm and loving family. John's generosity and kindness was as large as he was. He always said it took a lot more muscles to frown than to smile and as I remember him I can't help but smile. Thanks for the memories. Love, Laura
