Joseph Lempa Obituary
Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Ellen Lempa. He is also survived by his children: Suzanne (Chris) Etsch, Luanne Konopko, and Joseph C. (Mary) Lempa; his grandchildren: Emily (Nate) Reichenberger, Charles (Cheyenne) Goodman, August (Jaime) Etsch, Joseph Jr., and Sarah Lempa; and his great-grandchildren: Charlotte Goodman, August Etsch, and Charlie Reichenberger.
Joseph was preceeded in death by his parents Joseph F. and Stella Lempa, his sisters Rose (Joseph) Placek, and Estelle (Richard) Kosiek, and his son, Charles.
Joseph graduated from St. Mel High School in 1954, later attending the University of Illinois at Navy Pier where he met his wife. Joseph had a long career as a construction inspector, starting at the City of Chicago Engineering Department and then working for the Chicago Park District Engineering Department for 30-plus years.
Joseph was a long time resident of Forest View, IL, living there for 25 years. After his retirement from the Park District he continued on as a building inspector for 13 years in the Village of Forest View. He was a lifelong member of the Moose Lodge. It has been over a decade that Joseph has struggled with his declining health. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Nancy and I would like to extend our sympathies to Mary Ellen and her family on Joe's passing. He was a great guy to be around and without a doubt an asset to the Village of Forest View during the years that he served as the Building Commissioner. He will be missed.
