In 1973 my wife and I moved from living in Europe to the Chicago area where I had grown up. We were trying to decide where to live when a law school classmate of mine invited my wife and me to dinner in his apartment. We loved it and asked when we could move in. He told us that we couldn't because the building was going condominium, something we were not familiar with then. We met Joe Moss and became very impressed with him and with the conversion he was doing at 415 West Aldine, Chicago which was the second condo Joe converted in Chicago. We rented with an option to purchase and were one of the first to close on our apartment. It was the first major purchase of our lives. Joe was a pleasure to deal with. He was honest and upfront with us, fixed the things we told him needed fixing and gave us whatever he had promised. We are still living in that apartment and we owe it all to Joe. He was a terrific, warm and lovely person. He was a mensch.
