Trudo, Julie Fennelly
Julie Fennelly Trudo, 39, of Chicago, died October 14, 2008 at home of acute bronchial pneumonia. Beloved wife of Adam Trudo of Chicago. Loving daughter of Mary Anna (Bill) Malich and the late William Fennelly (1999). Caring sister of Beth Ann (Tom Franklin) Fennelly. Cherished aunt of Anna Claire and Thomas. Julie was born in New Jersey and moved to Lake Forest when she was 7. She attended St. Mary's grammar school and Woodlands Academy (class of '85). She earned her B.A. from Marquette University, Milwaukee, WI, and her M.S.W. at Loyola University in Chicago. Julie had a distinguished career as a social worker, caring for different populations. After earning her masters, Julie worked with the elderly at Libertyville Manor. She began working with abused women and children while at Lifelink in Chicago. She focused on children who had been removed from their homes for reasons of abuse and neglect, helping them to manage the courts and monitoring their foster care. Eventually she turned to administration, auditing and evaluating social work agencies. In this way, she was able to improve the lives of many of our most defenseless citizens, giving them hope for a happier future. She was an active member of her condo board and the Chicago Sports Network. She cared for animals, especially dogs. Julie was a deeply generous, fun-loving, spirited soul who will be missed not only by her family and friends but by everyone who knew her.
Funeral services were held Sat., Oct. 18 at the Church of St. Mary, followed by a graveside service at St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements by Wenban Funeral Home. Memorials may be made either to Camp Hope, P. O. Box 687, Lake Forest, IL 60045 or Reading Power, 621 College Rd., Lake Forest, IL 60045.

Dear Adam, family and friends-
I have just learned of Julie's passing. I am so sorry to read about this loss. I met Julie at Lifelink in 1994 and we worked together and became friends. She adopted my crazy cat "Yoda" and we maintained friendship despite my returning to Minnesota. She even drove here for my wedding. She was a great friend, an encouraging spirit and a fabulous listener. I have fond memories of walking to Cubs games with her, sitting on her deck and staying up late talking. I will miss her. My last correspondence with her via e-mail was a great one...she was preparing to get married and was so happy in life. I will remember her that way....with the smile on her face that drew others to her. My thoughts are with her family, friends and husband.

I am so sorry for your loss...I met Julie in 1994 at Lifelink. I knew she was an incredible person from day one... Over the years I appreciated her friendship and our shared experiences. Julie and I, though from different backgrounds, had a similar drive to help others...and while at Lifelink she did just that. Julie always encouraged me and I am a better person because of having integrated her suggestions into my dating life! If you ever want to hear a Julie memory please do not hesitate to contact me. What a horrible shock hearing of the passing of dearest Jules. Times together in our youth will always be treasured. Dear Adam and all of us who loved Julie...
Dave and I are deeply saddened to lose a dear friend and lovely woman. Julie was a bundle of energy and kindness. There was never a stranger in her life and she made everyone whose heart she touched feel special. I will miss her phone calls (Hi-this is Julie-from-Chicago!) and seeing her everytime there was a gathering of Kim and Fabian's friends! My comfort comes from knowing there is a special angel in heaven looking out for all the dogs up there and the humans who miss them on earth.
