Debbie:
I only learned of Karen's passing today. I know it's been a long time but Karen was my best friend growing up and I still think of her often. I have the letters she sent me from summer camp. I know it happened a while ago but please receive my condolences on your loss.

Debra- I am so sorry to have learned of your sisters passing just today, through a Deerfield High School facebook page. Karen and I were friends in high school, meeting through our mutual love for the theater. We were in the children's Wizard of Oz production together at DHS, and she came with me for a summer to the theater where I had worked the year before, in New Hampshire. To the best of my recollection we lost track of each other after that, though I think of her often and have such fond memories of our friendship. For a long time I had hoped to reconnect with her, but never seemed to get close enough in my detective work to actually find her. Probably made more difficult because I live in Florida, but I am left feeling that I just did not try hard enough. May your happy memories give you strength as you move forward.

Hi Debra, Our heartfelt condolences. We lived next door to you in Deerfield, IL (Jodi, Linda, and Betty Makovsky). Our mom, Betty, saw Karen's Obituary in the newspaper. Although we have not seen Karen in years, we remember her as happy, smart, and creative. Our sympathies... Jodi Makovsky
