Keith Carlson Obituary

Keith G. Carlson, Esq., 62, of Chicago, passed away on September 16, 2021. He had an adventurous spirit and a zest for life, travelling to over 50 countries and making friends all over the world, especially in Brazil, where he owned a home, learned Portuguese, and made friends who were like family. Born in Downers Grove, IL, Keith wanted to be a lawyer since he was 10. He obtained a political science degree from Oakland University and law degree from Wayne State University. After clerking for the Hon. Roman Gribbs of the Michigan Appellate Court, Keith joined and quickly became a partner at Hinshaw & Culbertson in Chicago. In 1995, Keith founded Kilgallon, Carlson and Simkus. In 2003, Keith founded Carlson Law Offices, which became Carlson Bier Associates in 2019. He achieved great success over his 37-year career, including over 15 Illinois Appellate Court and three Illinois Supreme Court victories. Keith loved sports, especially baseball. He began as the star pitcher for his Little League team and continued his pitching prowess in the Grant Park Lawyer's Softball League, where he coached his team to a championship in 2000. He held season tickets to the Chicago Cubs for over two decades, and when he finally purchased a home, it had to be near Wrigley Field. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois Carlson and Dean Dildine, and is survived by his sister, Sandra Dildine of Oceanside, CA, his uncle Donald Carlson of La Grange Park, IL, several cousins, and many friends. Please direct memorials to the American Heart Association. A memorial/celebration of life will be announced in the near future.

Still hard to embrace this. Keith was an astounding person, always there for my family regardless of the situation. I still remember meeting him in Brazil for the first time 17 years ago and how nice he was to me. My family and I will carry you on with the memories we have of him. May he Rest In Peace and my deepest condolences to his family and loved ones!

Keith was a gentleman and a fierce competitor in the courtroom and on the ball field. May he rest now in peace. My prayers to his loved ones.

I knew Keith in the practice of law for over 30 years, sometimes allies and sometimes opponents. We never had harsh words. He was a great guy. My condolences.
