Kenneth Stefancich Obituary

Kenneth George Stefancich, 69, percussionist and mechanical engineer, lifelong Chicagoan, passed away peacefully November 14, 2019. Beloved husband of 18 years to Sandra Sue Swantek, M.D.; loving son of Rudolph Frank Stefancich and the late Rita Estelle Stefancich (nee Ackerman); devoted father of Marissa Celeste Stefancich and Rima Allysia Stefancich; proud grandfather of Paxon Mikenlee Hatch; dear brother of Bruce (Sandy) Stefancich. Predeceased by his biological father, Richard Snyder. Cousin, uncle, musical colleague, and friend of many. Musical celebration of Ken's life: Sunday January 12, 2020, 12-4pm (service begins 12:30pm), Irish American Heritage Center, 4626 N Knox Ave, Chicago, IL 60630. Gratitude to the caring physicians and nurses at Rush University Hospital, particularly Jamile Shammo, MD, Edward Gometz, MD, and Sean O'Mahony, MD. Absolutely crushed. To the family, I am so sorry for your loss. What an absolute incredible man! For many years he was a father figure to me. A lot of special times spent together with the blue dog band. You will forever be in my thoughts, and i know you are at peace now. Love, Marc.
