Kurt was a crusader for peace and I vibidly remember him being a role model for me. He spoke so passionately about being original in this world. Ever since, I've thought about originality and individuality because of him. In this way, he affected me positively. I wish he could see me now, so confident and living out my philosophy. Think of him often because we had good memories. We watched shutter island together, about as scary of a movie as I can handle, and it was fun! Will miss him forever and strength and prayers to Julie, Pam, Deano, and all his family and friends.

In the summer before my senior year of high school, I spent most days playing tennis with Kurt. I asked him to help me prepare for the tennis season and, though we hardly knew each other, he agreed. Though he had a quiet manner and we were both pretty awkward high schoolers, I got to know him quite well. He was a gifted tennis player, an excellent teacher and a really great friend. We drifted apart after that tennis season, but I have often thought of him and hoped to be able to reconnect eventually. I was so sad to hear of his untimely passing. He was so intelligent, cunning, witty, and incredibly talented. Though the world is a lonelier place now without Kurt, I feel privileged to have known him. My prayers to the Bardelli family.

I just heard of this today. I knew Kurt for 10 years. May God bless Dino, Julie, and Pam. You three were a big part of my life and I am very blessed to have known all of you. Kurt, especially, taught me many great things about life and I know God has great plans for Kurt's remarkable intelligence and passion for life. I will miss you tremendously.

We all miss Kurt at our house so much. I keep waiting to see him on the couch as we watch a Bulls game. Or he and DAve coming in from being at Animal Welfare and telling of how the animals were doing that day. But, most of all, I miss being able to converse with them both about important issues and our beliefs in general. Kurt is a part of all the people in his life. He is missed greatly.

Kurt,

First of all, you were my brother's friend in proper but you were a friend to us all and I especially feel close to you having known you so long and spent so much time hanging out with you via hanging with my brother who is both a sibling and a best friend. One night Kurt slept over at our house (my parent's house) and those days I was an insomniac and we both stayed up late watching Waking Life and What the Bleep Do We Know being the philosophers we were.
MY FAVORITE MEMORIES OF ALL TIME OF KURT is as children David and Kurt played Mario 64 on Nintendo 64 as well as Golden Eye 007, which happen to be two of my favorite video games ever, probably because of this association. Kurt was always really really good at them and beat them for my brother and their friends and we would play these together and I just remember being so impressed that he was able to beat the game so quick and easily. : ) These were happy, fun times.

I was too embarrassed to ever suggest playing Kurt in tennis even though I love tennis and play myself because I knew he was so good and would look ridiculous compared to him.

My mom would always relish in feeding Kurt lunch or dinner when he came over, and he graciously obliged.

David, and I and Kurt would sometimes all volunteer together at the Animal Welfare and those are good memories with him. He seemed very peaceful when he went there despite the allergies.

There was this great big water balloon fight one summer as a kid and Bryan Knudsen and Kurt both rode their bikes and I was on their pegs throwing water balloons!

The anger and sadness still remains about your passing and it is unfair, especially to your family, but your personality, brightness, and kind, deeply thoughtful mind and soul was a gift to the world and for that we are all thankful! We miss you and love you! My love and support goes out to your parents and sister. May your spirit be ever resonating to the enlightened frequency within the divine spiritual universe.

From hacking into the old Apple II computers in 6th grade to devising his own formula for the area of any polygon, Kurt was always thinking creatively. I think the proof of how smart he was, was how compassionately he treated others. He loved taking care of the dogs at Animal Welfare League--wanting to adopt one even though he was allergic--and befriended anybody and everybody. He once told me that he thought that when we die, we might go to another dimension. As his favorite philosopher, Socrates, said: "All men's souls are immortal, but the souls of the righteous are immortal and divine." Kurt had a very good soul to match his very good mind. I hope he's still tinkering away somewhere in some other form and continuing to think big thoughts.
