Treml, LaVerne

LaVerne (Sis) Treml, 89, De Pere, passed away Tuesday afternoon, May 21, 2013 with her family by her side. The daughter of the late August and Cora (Fink) Van Remortel was born November 12, 1923 in Hollandtown, WI. She married Felix Treml on October 12, 1946 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere, and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2000. LaVerne worked for the De Pere School District at the High School, first in the cafeteria and later in the office. Sis loved going to the casino and spending time with her family. She was a devoted member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere, where she was a member of the Altar Rosary Society and washed the Church linens for many years.

Survivors include her children: Ken (Barb) Treml, Mary (Edward) Kimmeth, Tom (Pat) Treml, Diane Treml, Mike (Judy) Treml, Dan (Sharon) Treml and Dave (Mary Jo) Treml; grandchildren: Angi (Tim) Guski, Tammie (Matt) Tappa, Brian and Matthew Kimmeth, Ashley and Brad Treml, Amanda and Kyle Treml, Joel and Jenna Treml and Joshua and Zachary Treml; 16 great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Don (Mary Jane) Van Remortel; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Sis was preceded in death by her husband, Felix; siblings: Viola (Anthony) Bangert, Victor (Marie) Van Remortel, Esther (Clarence) Gullickson, Della Wilson, Vince (Janet) Van Remortel, Doris (Clarence) Zegers and Ruby Van Remortel.

Family and friends may gather at Cotter Funeral Home, 860 N Webster Ave, De Pere, on Thursday, May 23, from 4-8pm. A prayer service will be held at 7:00pm., led by Fr. Daniel Schuster. Visitation will continue on Friday, from 9:30am until 10:45am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St, De Pere. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Friday, with Rev. Richard Getchel officiating and Fr. Judah Ben-Hur S.Pigon, MF and Rev. Daniel Schuster concelebrating. Interment in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Online memorials at www.cotterfuneralhome.com.
