Lucy, I just heard. I hope you remember my working for you both at American Joe's and Pomodoro so long ago. I definitely recall that time fondly. I'm terribly sorry for your loss. Having lost my father to ALS, I can painfully relate to your experience. Be well.

Nancy and I were saddened to learn, from our mutual neighbors Up North, of Lee's struggle with ALS when we finally got up to Crystal Lake in August. Now our heartfelt condolences go out to Lucie and all of the family. Lee's presence in our summer community was always warm, friendly and interesting. We will really miss visiting with him in summers, but hope to see Lucie there next year.

Leo was our youngest and coolest uncle when we were kids - we were fascinated by his music and his mustache! As we grew older, he was the business advisor, always a step ahead of us. In more recent years, he and Lucie were tremendous loving support for us after we lost our parents. It's common to say the world will be a lesser place with his passing, but it's so true in this case. Leo is leaving a big hole in our family. What a great loss, but what a wonderful person to have in our lives while we did.

I too became acquainted with Lee through his loving father, Ed Keating. I remember Lee as a man with an acerbic wit, who was completely devoted to his wife and his family. That devotion was reciprocated; how fortunate he was in that. Life is so unfair and arbitrary sometime: Lee did not deserve to be taken down by that hideous disease. But he and his family lovingly and courageously faced it together; what a model they are for the rest of us. Godspeed, Lee

I have so many many memories of Lee through my long association with his father, Ed Keating. What always struck me about Lee (besides his wicked sense of humor) was his total devotion to his wife, Lucie, and their four wonderful children. He was truly the epitome of a "family man". I hope you are "flying free" Lee.

Leo was and will always be one of my dearest, oldest, closest and best friends.
His lose is heartbreaking to me, we shared so many memories as we grew older together and shared so many stages in our lives. What he leaves us is an example of a life well-lived and a life guided by love for his family and the people around him. He was defined by his ability and willingness to give to those people around him. He was a great steward and guide for his beloved children and grandchildren who I know he adored with every fiber of his being.
I will miss his laughter, his intellect and the physical ability to "be with him", but he will live on in my heart.
In the busy lives we lived, we would yearly (sometimes twice) get together alone out at Fox Lake Country Club and spend some "quality
time" as old buddies catching up on our lives. I will truly remember and value those long days together talking about life, love and our children. Or we would catch a quick lunch or breakfast together. But line he always gave his time to people.
Dearest Leo, you are and will be missed, but I know you are in a very special place and when my time comes to join you, I ask that you have a guitar handy and a set of golf clubs so I can sit down and play the new songs I've written for you and then go play a few rounds together.
God speed and God bless you and your beloved family.
Your Friend,
Chester
