Margaret Marie Michalek (Kunka), 94, of Naples Florida, passed away peacefully, November 14, 2021, in her home surrounded by the family and wonderful caregivers. She was the beloved wife of Richard for over 64 years, who preceded her in death in 2011. Margie was known to be full of love, laughter, and kindness. Margie eagerly showed these qualities to her five children: Janice (Larry) Ryan, Linda (Greg) Willard, Richard (Carroll) Michalek, Gary (Becky) Michalek, Dan (Tracie) Michalek along with her 17 grandchildren 23 great grandchildren and her wonderful caregivers Terri, Anne, John, Joana, and Lillian. Margie was born November 29th, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois. Her parents were Marie and Joseph Kunka. Margie has one younger brother Joe who she so admired. She was a graduate of Kelly High School in Chicago. Margie met her husband Dick while working in his Aunt Wand's Deli. Dick gave her a ride home so she would not have to take a streetcar and the rest is history. They loved to dance and some of their favorite songs were " Fly Me To the Moon and "I did it My Way." They spent many years raising their family in Glenview Illinois before moving Naples, Florida. Margie loved to joke around with all her family. She enjoyed the game of golf and would say, "I'm a goofer not a golfer." If we could learn anything from Margie's life it would be, not to take life too seriously, be able to laugh at yourself and be kind and grateful for what you have. If Margie were writing this, I think she would end by one of her many sayings: "See ya later Alligator, after while crocodile." and " I pray for you, you pray for me."
