Marguerite T. Devereux

1937 - 2022

Our beloved mother, Marguerite (Marge) Terese Devereux, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2022. She was born Marguerite Moylan in 1937 to Martin and Margaret (nee Conroy) Moylan in Chicago, part of a large Irish Catholic family. She graduated St. Angela's School, Austin, Chicago, and Trinity High School, River Forest, IL. She is predeceased by her siblings, Mary Ellen Long, Martin Jr., and Juleann Nolan.

In 1958, she married her high-school sweetheart, Raymond J. Devereux II and shared 56 years of loving marriage until his death in 2014. Between 1959 and 1976 they had six children, Raymond III (Claudia), Mary Clare, Paul (Jim), Jeanette (Robert) Holland, Helen, and Luke (Andrea). She is grandmother to Michelle, Nicole (Kyle), Michael (Rachael), Connor, Tyler, Alexandra, Matthew, Leah, Luke Jr., Charlie, Jason, and Keira. It filled her heart knowing that her great grandson was on his way to join the family.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, MaryBeth Geibel, her cousins, and is aunt/great aunt to many nieces and nephews beginning with the eldest Margie Long Mitchem (on the Moylan side of the family), and Patti (on the Devereux side). She was a caring mother to everyone and welcomed all into her home with open arms, humor, and love. Marge was also a devoted member of her community spending untold hours supporting groups such as the Northwest Austin Council, and St. Angela's Church and School.

Dear mother, who gave to the world all the love within her, may you forever be at rest. Committal service at the Holy Redeemer Catholic Cemetery 23015 N. Cave Creek Road Phoenix, AZ on Friday, November 4th at noon. In lieu of flowers, donations to Feed My Starving Children or the Arizona Humane Society appreciated.
