Marie Pellettiere Obituary

Marie L. Pellettiere, 102, a lifelong resident of Chicago, IL, passed away peacefully on July 15, 2023, at home, surrounded by her adoring family. She was born on May 17, 1921, to Joseph and Anna Giglio. Marie was the beloved wife of John M. Pellettiere who preceded her in death; and loving mother to JoAnn Luke (the late Larry), John Jr. (Janice), Debra Hamilton (Ron) and the late Daniel. Dedicated grandmother to John III (Magda), Joseph, Kristen and Luke and great grandmother of John IV and Mark. Preceded in death by her dear sisters Geraldine, Rose, Angeline, and Lucille. Sister-in-law of Daniel and Diane Pellettiere. Special aunt, great aunt, and friend to many.

Marie married her prom date, Staff Sergeant John Pellettiere, in 1945 after he returned from serving his country in World War II. Together they lived and raised their family in the West Humboldt Park neighborhood where she belonged to and was very active in Our Lady of the Angels Parish for many years. The family moved to St. Eugene Parish in 1971. In 2013 she moved to Harbor Point in downtown Chicago and was a member of Assumption Parish. Marie loved to host holiday parties and dinners for family and friends. Marie enjoyed Chicago sports and was an avid fan of the Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls and her favorite TV shows "General Hospital" and "The Lawrence Welk Show."

Marie was a woman of tremendous faith and woke up every day prayerfully and thankful for all the blessings in her life, especially her loving family.
