My condolences go out to Marty's daughters and his many friends who enjoyed his humanity, charity, wit and love of golf.
We already miss these qualities of Marty and trust that he is enjoying himself over the rainbow.
Best to his friends and family.

Sorry for your loss. I went to Luther North with Marty and we went to the same church in Arlington Heights.
I even double dated with Marty and Sandy after high school. We know he is now golfing in heaven! Our prayers are with you.

We would like to send our deepest condolences to Marty´s family. We met Marty when we moved to Avalon. It was one night my husband and I was coming back from the store and we heard someone yelling for help we stopped the car and let down the window to make sure that´s what we heard and sure enough it was Marty he needed help to get into his truck he explained he was paralyzed but had movement I´m a CNA so offered to help him once he told us that my husband was very concerned about him (which is very unusual for my husband to show he cared) my husband asked Marty a series of questions he was not satisfied with the answers Marty was giving about driving at night while being paralyzed he told him my wife will drive you wherever you needed to go and I took him around. Afterwards my husband met me back at Marty´s house and helped me got him inside I dressed him for bed and we exchanged numbers. When we got home my husband was still concerned about Marty living alone and driving that truck. The next day Marty called me and I walked over to his home we sat and talked for hours about his daughters and grandkids who he spoked highly of he showed me some pictures and necklaces he had ordered and wanted my opinion on. He gave me some shorts to give to my husband that he still wears to this day. We began a friendship, if I was going grocery shopping I would call and pick him up or ask him did he need anything it was always bottled water or Pepsi. I would call just to keep him from driving that truck. Lord knows he didn´t listen. He had a I can do it attitude. My kids loved him as well he was fascinated with them riding on the Hoover boards saying they needed to careful and slow down. He was indeed like a grandfather we lost touch due to me working at the hospital during COVID-19, college, and virtual school for the kids. When I saw the house being cleaned out I couldn´t bring myself to stop fearing the worse Marty has truly made a mark on my family and I we will forever love him and miss his War stories... Sorry for your loss
