One time many years ago, Mom and Dad went deep-sea fishing with the Halfpennys on one of their many vacations together. As the day grew longer and the boat rolled in the swells, Hape and Dad got progressively more seasick and couldn't come out of the cabin. The gals, meanwhile, were out on the deck, drinking beer and smoking cigarettes, laughing like crazy and catching fish. I guess this says a lot about great relationships and old family ties! Mary, in all my memories, always had a beautiful smile on her beautiful face, and tended to be a bit mischievous when with my Mother. They'll now be able to enjoy everlasting happiness (or is it "hape-iness....?") in Heaven irritating the two boys.... I guess I'm kinda jealous....My memories of Mary and Hape are some of the fondest of my life...

I read something in the paper today that quoted a man whose wife had died in the bus accident...he said,"she went straight to heaven..she didn't take no detour". That is how I picture Mrs. Halfpenny...my early recollection was she and Mom taking yoga together (they were a sight in their leotards)..she was a blast and had a blast and always treated me like I was very special. In fact, she found my

"lifesaver" psoriasis doctor when I was 16 and it had become really serious. She made this world a nicer place for alot of us. She was a blessing and we were lucky to have had her in our lives. My deepest sympathy to the family. Love, Ana

Dear Halfpenny Family,

I am writing for my Mother, Mary Duffy, who knew your Mother from 30 East Huron and from their time at Rehab. She wishes to express her sympathies. They enjoyed many a good time together. My Mother will miss her deeply.

Dear Halfpennys,

My sincere sympathy and prayers for you all with the loss of a great lady. Mrs. 'Hape' was loved by all of us, especially my Mother. At times my Mom would use the expression 'Heaven Help Us'. I think she meant it as a prayer. Well, I guess now it would be Heaven help Heaven with Mrs. 'Hape' and Mom together up there. I expect that there is a very special place for South Shore people!

Dear Halfpenny Family,

I was sad to hear of Mary's passing. She was a great lady with so many wonderful stories to tell. The Miller family will miss her greatly. I know she is enjoying being with her beloved Hape and all of her South Shore friends reunited in heaven. My prayers are with you all at this sad time.

Love,

Martha
