Merle lived and died on her terms. She was perceptive, wise, loyal, generous to a fault, and devoted to those she cared for. A unique individual by any standard, she was loved and admired. She will be sorely missed.

I always enjoyed talking to Merle at family gatherings or when we'd run into each other at Costco. She will be missed.

We, Merle's cousins, will miss her presence and pleasant smile. I always looked forward to hearing of her travels and comparing theater notes. What a sad day. My deepest sympathy.
