Michael Keller Obituary

Michael Monteith Keller died on Thanksgiving, November 26, 2015 at age 66 from complications of lymphoma. Mike was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Alice Woodward and George Keller. He is survived by his siblings Bob (Elsa Walsh) Woodward, Susan (Joseph) Whall, Anne Swallow, Lynn (Ken Horiszny) Keller, Dave (Caroline) Woodward, Wendy (Ken Heiden) Woodward, his beloved son Grant Monteith Keller and his cherished grandchildren Dan, Jeff and Sarah Keller. He also leaves behind his youngest siblings Steve, George, Andy, Jane Keller and a large extended family. While Mike spent his childhood in Wheaton, IL, he resided in Phoenix, AZ for the past several decades where he fought his mental illness. With the help of new medications, strong family support, his church, volunteerism and community activities, he built a meaningful, independent, productive life of which he was very proud as was his greater family. Mike touched countless lives and leaves a legacy of overcoming the symptoms of mental illness with gentle Grace and determined courage. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church, 715 N. Carlton St, Wheaton, IL. Burial of his cremated remains will follow immediately at Wheaton Cemetery, 1209 Warrenville Rd, Wheaton, IL. Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or NAMI, The National Alliance on Mental Illness.
