Michael Johnston Woods (aka "Mikey Dubb") died suddenly Friday, January 8, 2016 in Pompano Beach, FL. He was born February 5, 1995, in Winfield, IL, and grew up in St. Charles, IL. Michael is survived by his parents, Jim and Sara Woods of St. Charles, brother Jonathan Woods of Seattle, WA, and sister Ellen Woods of St. Charles. Also surviving are paternal grandparents Joe and Sally Woods of New Holland, PA, aunt and uncle Kelly & Andy Murphy, cousins Jimmy, Laura & Joseph all of Shreveport, LA, aunt and uncle Lara & Joe Woods, cousins Emily, Sterrett and Allie of Atlanta, GA. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jim & Rosalie Thomas. Michael attended St. Charles East High School where he played basketball. He enjoyed athletics, and many hours were spent playing 'friendly hoops' on the sport court. He was a caddie, and a natural on the golf course. Mike's smile could light up a room, and he always had a kind word for his friends. He was a respectful young man and loved by so many. He was recently employed at a country club in Boca Raton, FL. We know that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Visitation will be held 4:00 to 8:00 PM Friday at Yurs Funeral Home St. Charles. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Bethlehem Lutheran Church 1145 N 5th Ave (Rte 25) St. Charles. Rev. Mark Larson officiating. Burial will be private.
