So sad to learn of Mitchell's passing.

To his lovely Valerie,
Jay and Brian, please
know how I enjoyed
our association, albeit
many years ago and
that you are in my thoughts and prayers
at this difficult time.

I just learned of Mitchell's passing today at the Northwestern game against Duke where he was honored. I met him years ago at Temple Jeremiah and told him he looked like a movie star with his bright smile! My husband who passed away in 2012 of Metastatic Melanoma would call him movie star, too. He was a larger than life character and I am sure his wife and entire family will continue to honor his memories.

There are people in life that you meet and never forget. Mitch was one of those individuals. He was generous with his time and happy to share his wisdom with others he cared. A man of honour and integrity, whose love for his family was undeniable and showed in everything he said and did. It was a privilege for me to have worked with him. A class act, he will be truly missed. Valerie, Jay and Barry, may all the wonderful memories comfort you during this difficult time.

For 15 years Mitch provided Cass Junior High and me, as DC tour leader, with outstanding service and experiences. I was always amazed that no matter how early we left the airport, he was there to see the group off.
When my wife and I were going to Hawaii to celebrate our 25th anniversary, I turned to Mitch to provide a memorable experience. He more than delivered.
His kind and gentle nature and his charity to others shall be missed.
My prayers to his family.
May he walk in peace with God.

Dr Slotnick was my teacher in 7th and 8th grades. He took our class to Washington and NY
He got to know my family, took family photos with me when I was in a HS fashion contest and visited me during all three of my knee surgeries at the hospital.
I worked at Kellogg and was his biggest cheerleader during this difficult time for him.
He was dearly loved by so many of his students.
He told me whenever someone came up to him to reacquaint he could tell by the goofy looks on our faces clearly told him it must be a past student.
He was my hero.

Mitch always made it a point to personally see us off at the airport to make sure that we knew we were in good hands. His enthusiasm for student travel and warm smile always made me feel great to travel with Educational Tours.

Springman Middle School in Glenview began touring with Mitchell and Valerie through Educational Tours in April 1974. His legacy as an organizer of educational experiences for young people continues on in the thousands of lives he inspired to be students of history and better citizens. Forty-four years later, Dave Tosh and I still operate the Washington DC trip with the high standards, attention to detail, and kindness that Mitchell taught us along with dedicated staff who he trained. Count Dave and I among those many lives he touched and changed.
