Nancy Tyche Obituary

Having lost her three--year struggle with cancer, Nancy Tyche died at home on December 8th, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born in Oak Park in 1941, the third child of William T. and Margaret Walsh Armstrong. She grew up in Wilmette and Kenilworth, attending St.Francis Xavier grammar school and New Trier High School in Winnetka (see 1960 yearbook photo) Nancy is survived by her dear husband , Chuck. They were Married 46 years ago in Glenview. Also surviving are her beloved children, sons Jim, Michael (colleen), Robert, Chuck Jr. (Jeana), John, and daughter Mary Cavanagh. And her sweet grandchildren, Joe, Ryan, Mikayla, Jack and Ava. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Suzanne ( Reynolds ) Jonassen, and brother, Jim ( Marjorie ) Armstrong. Also 14 nieces and nephews, as well as many long-time pals, several going back over 60 years to her school days. In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Bill ( Barbara ) Armstrong. Her struggle over, Nancy is sitting at a small table-- the one with soft sunlight streaming through the window--at Cohan's in Innisfree, sipping tea and opening up another Agatha Christie. There will be a remembrance and celebration of Nancy's life on December 14th, at 2:30 pm at The Edge Church, 25 Forest Avenue, Fox Lake, IL 60020 No flowers, please, but donations to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation ( www.Themmrf.org ) would be appreciated.

My twin sister Ginny Wenck Lezama, Evanston, and I were friends with Nancy since third grade at St. Francis Xavier School. She was a beautiful person inside and out, and a treasure to know. Nancy saw the Best in everyone, and yes, she loved to read.

Mrs. Tyche was always fun to be around. Her laugh was contegious. Although I didn't get to spend much time w/ her over the last 15+ yrs, I will remember each moment with this wonderful women. God only makes a few of you Nancy! RIP
