Nancy Baird Wood, age 90, passed away at home on November 8, 2021 in Northfield, IL after a bravely fought, long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Nancy was born in Evanston, IL on July 16, 1931, and grew up in Winnetka, IL. She attended New Trier High School and graduated from Southern Methodist University (SMU) where she was a proud member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. A storied life lived including teaching, charity work, motherhood, family, many special friends, travel, curling, golf, playing bridge, music, song, Naples and most importantly the Love of her Life, Jim Wood. At age 50, her passion for singing erupted. Microphone in hand, she professionally sang with a Big Band. Seeking the whereabouts of "Nancy Wood" and her voice was the norm. Her loving heart, fabulous smile, humor and wit are never ending and most certainly TO BE CONTINUED forever more. She is preceded in death by her parents, Andrew M. Baird and Alta Larson Baird, and sister, Barbara "Babs" Lundberg. She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, James "Jim" Wood; daughters, Barbara "Bobbie", Donna and Mardi; granddaughter, Tory; cherished Westie, Holly; brother-in-law Vern Lundberg and family. Services are private.
