Dear Steven and Harold,

We just heard about the loss of your Dad and extend our deepest condolences to you and your family. I remember his wit and warmth and unfailing kindness. My last contact was a lovely letter from him a few years ago when we were making an attempt to construct a family tree. I am not sure whether you know this, but Mary, my Mom, passed away in February, reuniting with Herman, my Dad, who passed away 10 years ago. Let us know if you every get out to Santa Barbara.

Warmest regards,

Larry Pearson

Harold, I just saw you outside and you said you thought the time had come for you to get a caregiver. We were away for Thanksgiving or else I would have surely been at the funeral. I loved your dad and he was my "boyfriend" and and he called me "kid". Anything I can do to help, let me know. I live on the 4th floor so its not a problem.

My deepest sympathies on the loss of your Dad. Although we've not been in touch since I was your dorm counselor at Wash U.,I had the pleasure of meeting your Dad several times as he waited for your Mom after work--at Opelika (M. Snower).

I've followed your work since Second City and then Ruth would keep me posted while she worked for me. Now we're both in Glencoe.

Sorry I will not be there to share your sorrow. But my ambassador will share my condolences with you all.

Much love
