For the family members, I just read and checked out Dr. Schwartz's book "A Lab of My Own" at my university library in Lubbock. Her beautiful writings live on.

In the mid to late sixties Dr. Neena Schwartz was on the faculty at the University of Illinois at the Medical Center. I became acquainted with her because we were in the process of establishing the Bioengineering program at the Chicago campuses of the University. I remember her as an independent and outside-the-box thinker, and a strong supporter of our efforts. She was intellectually impressive, and passionate about women's medical issues. Her contributions at Illinois and at Northwestern were impressive.
