NICHOLAS DOVEKAS Obituary

Nicholas J. Dovekas, loving father of Demetra (Timothy) Zyrkowski and Christine (John) Meyer; proud grandfather of Georgean and Nicholas (Lacy) Zyrkowski, John and Alexander Meyer; devoted son of the late James and Jane "Yianoula" Dovekas; dear brother of Helen (the late Bill) Passias and the late Dean J. (Corinne) Dovekas; fond uncle, cousin and friend of many. Nick was a former longtime member of the St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church Parish Council and worked for Western Electric "At&t" for over 35 years. Visitation Friday, from 4 to 9 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 1104 Waukegan Rd., Glenview. Funeral Saturday, 10 a.m. from the funeral home to S.S. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church 1401 Wagner Rd. (at Lake Ave.) Glenview for funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the University of Chicago Hospital, Development Office 1170 E. 58th St., Chicago, IL 60637 or American Heart Assoc. 208 S. LaSalle St., Ste 1500, Chicago, IL 60604 would be appreciated. Arrangements by John G. Adinamis Funeral Director Ltd. 847-901-4012.

Dear Helen & the Dovekas family.
I know your hearts are filled with wonderful memories of your brother Nicholas as you celebrate a life well lived. The joyful times you spent together will never be forgotten. we will all miss him. May he rest in eternal peace. Chris G. Passias.

I'm sorry to hear of your Dad,Grandpa passing.
I worked with Nick back in the WE days also ATT.He introduced me and a couple of other fellows to Greek food at the Artemis Restaurant.
Many fond memories.
