Patricia A. Lanigan, age 91, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, Feb. 13. She was surrounded by her family and went to be with her Savior, Lord Jesus Christ, and her late husband John (Jack) Lanigan. Patricia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt to many. She was born on Feb. 5, 1930, in Chicago, to loving parents Michael and Marie Lynch. She was the oldest of five children. On Sept. 4, 1949, she married her best friend John (Jack) Lanigan. Together they raised four handsome and hardworking sons: Jack Jr., Michael, William, and Daniel. She dedicated her early life to rearing her children and being an instrumental figure in the growth and success of the products of the family company, Mi-Jack. She also could be found spending time on the phone or in person with her first friend and dearest sister, Marie. In her later years, Patricia enjoyed crosswords, reading celebrity magazines, power walking, reciting the rosary, attending Sunday Mass, and most of all being with family – her greatest love. She was a collector of handwritten notes and family pictures. Her deep love of Ireland was evident throughout her home with her cherished Irish Belleek pottery along with other Irish treasures. To family and friends, she was known for her warmth, hospitality, generosity, quick wit, feisty spirit, and contagious laugh. She was a role model for the family ties she created and kept close. This is shown through her close kinship of extended family members. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Marie, her brother Mike, and husband, Jack. She is survived by two brothers, Jerry and Dan, her sons, Michael, Jack Jr., William, and Daniel, along with twelve grandkids, Kristine, Jim, John III, Maureen, Mary Erin, Michael Jr., Patrick, Kevin, Patricia, Catherine, Annabelle, and Liam. In addition, she has 21 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed and her memory will be forever present in our hearts. Visitation Saturday 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL. Mass and Interment private for family. To keep in Patricia's philanthropic spirit, in lieu of flowers, please send donations to Boys Town, a nonprofit that gives youth and health care services to children and families, or Southeastern Guide Dogs, which trains dogs for visually impaired people and veterans. Due to Covid, masks are required and no loitering is preferred. I am so sorry for your loss on earth . Roses are red violets are purple. When you feel rain drop that is her spirit crying with you. If you feel the wind against your skin that is her giving you kisses and hugs. If you see a rainbow that is her saying she so happy and singing your achievement. If you hear someone behind you that is her watching over you. If you feel you have a call that is her saying I'm thinking about you and be safe. Till we meet again you gained a special guardy angel that is getting all ready your spot with god for your time to meet up. God bless and always remember her in your heart soul and mind. Dear friend of my mom and dad and a beautiful sweet wonderful Irish lady that was adored by many. I Was very lucky to have been able to talk to her now and then over the years. She knew me when I was born and I consider myself very lucky to have been born with so many people that cared about me. Margaret also has fond memories of her when our kids were young. She was just such a sweetheart.

Everyone loved Pat because she first loved them. She lived the biblical challenge to love in 1Corinthians 13:4-8. Love is patient, love is kind...it never fails. When you miss her, you can find her today in the loved ones she poured her love into-her extended family and many friends. Congrats on a life well lived, Pat! Love you
