PATRICK TRAVERS Obituary

Patrick Francis Travers, age 61, suddenly. Cherished son of Margaret, nee Callow, and the late Charles; proud eldest brother to Tim (Tricia), Mike (Sarah), Bernadette (Michael) Colletti, Cassie (Denis) O'Connor, Margie (Dave) Needleman, Terry, Mary, Norah (Eamonn) O'Connor, Tom, Rita (Noel) Skelton, Barbara, Rosie (Conal) Gillespie, Aidan (Denise) and Sheila; loving uncle to his godchild Brian (Ellen), Joan, Neil (Kristin), Austin, Charlie, Paddy, Lydia, Mike Jr. (Sheila), Matt, Alyssa, Anna, Kevin, Danny, Deirdre, Bob, Jim, Matie, Eamonn D, Mary Elizabeth, Sean, Brendan, Mairead, Claire, Hailey, Declan, Emma, Tara, Matt, and Aidan Jr; great uncle to Evelynn and Mary Eleanor. A much loved nephew, cousin and a friend to many. Patrick was also very honored to be the President of the Mother of Hope Praesidium at St. Edward Church as well as the President of the Legion of Mary at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica, a member of Painter's District Council No. 14, Local 147, and former Private First Class, U.S. Army, in the Vietnam War. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Women's Center, 5116 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, 60630 would be appreciated. Friends and family to meet Monday, Oct. 29 for 11 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica, 3121 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Dear Mrs Travers, Mike, Tim, Bernadette, Cassie, Margie and of the Travers family, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Pat's death. Though I have not seen Pat for many years he has always held a special place in my heart. His wonderful laugh and welcoming smile was ever near but he was so much more. For it was the day of my own brother, Thomas' funeral that I will never forget Pat for. His tenderness, caring and kindness to me that day went beyond any duty of friendship. It came from a big man with an even bigger heart. I know Our Lady is wrapping Her Blue Mantle around Pat and welcoming him home. I hold you all in my thoughts and prayers at this very difficult time. God grant Pat the Light of Heaven and each of you the peace of Christ.
