Peggy Ann Adams, 103, of Lake Forest, IL passed away peacefully on July 8, 2021. She was born on August 15, 1917 to the late Theodore and Margaret (nee McGinnis) Mueller in St. Paul, Minnesota.

An incredible, inspirational matriarch, affectionately known as "Dommie" to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Peggy is survived by daughter Tracy (Lawrence) Corr and son Mark (Wendy) Adams; loving grandchildren Colleen (Alex) Lazar, Patrick (Amy) Corr, Michael (Jill) Corr, Maggie (Mike) Keller, Caroline (John) DelleChiaie, Peter (Megan) Adams, Kyle Adams and Patrick Adams; and great grandchildren Emma, Maggie, Lucas, Carleigh, Caitlin, Molly, Tucker, Isabel, Frannie, William, Nora, Wesley, Josie, Abby and Nellie.

Peggy was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 67 years, Pete; her loving son and daughter in-law, J. Michael and Catherine Adams; and her sister and brother-in-law, Kathlyn and Bob Freer.

Peggy was an extraordinary woman. Her positive, persevering attitude, and the way she approached each experience and relationship in her life with grace, love and humor, were an inspiration to all who knew her. She was eternally present in the moment and relished spending time with family and friends. Her hobbies included golf, curling, book club, bridge, travel and antiques. An avid bridge player, Peggy played in several groups all the way up until 2020. Peggy was an accomplished antique dealer. When her husband Pete retired, she started a business, "Antiques And". Peggy and Pete would travel to places near and far - including annual treks to England and France - in search of unique pieces and hidden gems to restore and sell at shows and markets across the Midwest. Deeply spiritual, Peggy volunteered at her church for over 60 years. She was awarded the prestigious Christifidelis Award in 2017 at the age of 100 for service that made positive and important contributions to the church and parish life.

Peggy blessed those around her with love, kindness and generosity that she spread far and wide. Her legacy and spirit will live on forever in all of those who had the honor of knowing her.

A visitation and funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 20, at Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, IL 60045. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m.

I spent many delightful Friday afternoons with Peggy at the bridge table at Exmoor. She was sharp, entertaining and fun to be with. We shared several Cub's games with our bridge group including a Margarita or two! She always added humor and a light touch to my day. I shall miss her always. Our bridge group had a luncheon celebration for her on her 100th, and we had a special cake and the Exmoor staff came out on the terrace to join in singing Happy Birthday to her. She was so surprised and pleased. I send many sincere condolences to her loving family.
