On Monday, December 21, 2020, Peter J. Gentile, devoted father and loving son, passed away at age 48. Peter was born on January 10, 1972, in Chicago, IL. He joined the United States Air Force right after his graduation from Riverside-Brookfield HS in 1990. Peter served at RAF Upper Heyford, England, for 2 years and at Vandenberg AFB, California, for 2 years, receiving an honorable discharge in 1994. He proudly served his country by completing a tour of duty with Operation Desert Storm in Saudi Arabia in 1991. Peter received his degree in business from the University of Phoenix, Tucson, AZ, in 1999. He moved to PA to enjoy a 20 year career in banking as branch manager for NBT Bank, Clarks Green, PA. As a measure of his success in the business world, Peter received two Lackawanna Leadership awards; one for Class Leader and one as a Shining Star from the Core Program class of 2020.
Peter had an amazing sense of humor which was equally matched by his incredible musical talent. He had a heart of gold and was the kindest, most compassionate, loving man to all who knew him. The world has lost a gentle soul whose bright light will be missed by those whose lives he touched.
Peter will be lovingly remembered by his son, Peter II, his mother, Mary Ann Baridon (Tom Halstead); his step-mother, Marianne Gentile (wife of his late father Ross Gentile); his brothers, Frank Gentile (Cheri); Jason Baridon (Breona); and Briian Baridon (Andee); his aunt Cathy Hagstrom (Jim); his uncle Sam Gentile (Bill Fotis) the Iovino and Rocco families. Peter was also a very caring uncle and cousin.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made on behalf of Peter's son and sent to: Peter Gentile II College Fund, Attn: NBT Bank, 318 East Grove Street, Clarks Green, PA, 18411. Services were held in Pennsylvania.
