Phillip L. Zaretsky, age 87; beloved husband of Miriam, (nee Aronson) for 61 years; loving father of Harlene (Marc) Rosenberg and Barbara Zaretsky; proud grandpa of Brian Rosenberg; son of the late Joseph and Sarah, (nee Gancewitz) Zaretsky; brother to the late Gertrude (Harry) Steinberg and Mary (Ralph) Kinberg; brother-in-law to Esther (Stanley) Penn; uncle to Joni (Howard) Friedman, Jay Steinberg, Michael (Lauren) Penn and Laurel (Monty) Friedman; and much-beloved great uncle to many nieces and nephews. Born in Chicago, a proud veteran of WWII and a long-time resident of Evanston. His family meant everything to him and they will miss his gentle sweetness, sense of humor and friendliness to all. Service and interment Tuesday 12 Noon at Westlawn Cemetery, 7801 W. Montrose Avenue, Norridge. Contributions in Phil's name may be made to a charity your choice.
