Ralph Lavieri

1924 - 2022

Arlington Heights. Ralph Lavieri, age 98, died peacefully on July 27th. Ralph was born in 1924 in Chicago, son of Gabrielle Statkiewicz and Gennaro Lavieri, brother of Lucia (Long) and Lawrence. He graduated from Steinmetz HS in 1942 and served in the US Army during WWII in Italy and N. Africa. Introduced to Jeanne Brod by an army buddy, they married in 1948. He graduated from University of Illinois School of Pharmacy in 1951 and worked in a variety of neighborhood and hospital pharmacies throughout his career. He was father of Susan (deceased), R. Vincent, and Gretel (Michael Winton), grandfather of Griffin & Saffron Winton-LaVieri, great grandfather of Gage Schilling. He lovingly cared for his sweetheart Jeanne until her death in 1992. He married his angel, Faythe Kalkwarf, in 2007, and was by her side until her death in 2016. He was known for his dry wit, his ability to fix anything, & determined independence. He leaves behind many family and friends to honor his memory.
