Ramon A. Mulholland

1919 - 2013

Ramon A. Mulholland, age 93, died on August 7, 2013. He was born in Shelbyville, Indiana on October 7, 1919. Mr. Mulholland was a resident of Wyndemere Retirement Community in Wheaton and had lived in the Glen Ellyn/Wheaton area since 1960. He served as an Elder in the First Presbyterian Church of Glen Ellyn and was also an active member of Glen Ellyn Kiwanis. He was also a past president of CMRA (Chemical Marketing Research Association) and past president and lifetime achievement award winner of APPMA (American Pet Products Manufacturers Association). A native of Indiana, he received BS and MS degrees in Chemistry from Indiana University. Shortly after graduation, he was commissioned a Naval Officer at the US Naval Academy in Annapolis and served with distinction in the Pacific during World War II. He was recalled to active duty, as a Ltn. Commander, during the Korean Crisis. Mr. Mulholland was the founder and CEO of Mardel Labs, Inc. in Glendale Heights. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Ruth, four married children, Rebecca (David) Blum, Kathleen (Gerald) Knatz, Jan Alexander (Linda) Mulholland, Michael (Roberta) Mulholland; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church in Glen Ellyn on Thursday, August 15 at 10:00 AM.
