Rev. Richard Balazs

Rev. Richard Balazs, C.R., age 82. A Priest of the Congregation of the Resurrection passed away in Chicago on December 12, 2020. Fr. Rich professed vows in the Congregation of the Resurrection on April 15, 1957. He studied and was ordained a Priest on April 3, 1965 in St. Louis, Missouri. He served the Congregation as its Provincial Superior for nine years. He also served the church as a Pastor and Parochial Vicar in Chicago at St. Stanislaus Kostka and St. Stanislaus B&M. Parishes. In St. Louis he ministered at Our Lady of Loretto Parish and was involved in the formation work at Resurrection Seminary. Dearest brother of John (Mary Lou) and Robert (Carol) Balazs. Fr. Rich will be Lying in State on Thursday, December 17th, 9:00 A.M. until Mass of Catholic Burial 10:00 A.M. at St. Hyacinth Basilica, 3636 West Wolfram St., Chicago, IL 60618. Interment St. Adalbert Cemetery. Donation in Fr. Rich's name to the Senior Religious Fund of the Congregation of the Resurrection, 3601 N. California Ave., Chicago, IL 60618 appreciated.
