He served on numerous commissions and boards throughout his career. Richard had a life-long passion for reading – the more books, the better. In his younger years, he enjoyed participating in the martial arts, running marathons, and participating in sports, including winning the Catholic Championship for high hurdles in high school. Later in life, Richard enjoyed attending theology classes, Tai Chi, and had a love for nature and animals. He enjoyed watching the butterflies and hummingbirds in our backyard in the gardens he created for that very purpose. From an early age, Richard had a great devotion to his Catholic faith and served the Lord in many ways throughout his life. He was a great friend and mentor to all who knew him. If you met Richard – you had a friend for life. He was a kind, loving and compassionate man who loved and cared for his family beyond measure. He will be cherished in our hearts for eternity.
