I'll never forget the first time I met Cindy's dad: during one of my lessons, and he gave me the nicest compliment. I had no idea who he was at first! But I'll never forget his bright blue eyes and great smile. He was a great asset to the local skating community, and I'm sending major hugs to Cindy and Kelly.

Cindy and Kelly:
I was so sorry to hear of Rich's passing. He was a very kind person and a lot of fun at competitions. If you had a student who was competing, if he could break away, he would always try to watch them.
Your devotion to your Dad and Grandfather was exemplary. I remember that when Rich had the health issue this past winter in WI, the minute you were notified, you were on the road up to WI.
Cindy, he was so proud of all your skating accomplishments and Kelly was the apple of his eye. He loved to talk about the two of you.
Cindy and Kelly, my deepest sympathies to you and your family.

I was so looking forward to working the Dupage Competition with him for the first time this August. My heartfelt sympathies to you.

Rich will truly be missed by all--by skating colleagues, family and friends. When I'd walk into that judges room at the start of the day, Rich was such a reassuring and calming presence. Not only for his exceptional accounting skills, but what a gentleman--such a warm smile, loved what he did, and he always told a great tale or two. What a wonderful man who had a great zest for life, travels and adventure. To Cindy, Kelly and all of your family, my deepest sympathy. I remember him so fondly and will miss him dearly.

Richard Jonesi was my grandfather - my Gamfer (or Foofur was his nickname to me). There are not enough words to describe the man he was and how much I deeply loved him. Thank you to all of you that have supported our family through this devastating time. Your stories and kind words have lifted our spirits and make us SO proud that he has played a part in each of YOUR lives.
I will always love you Gamfer. Mom and I will never EVER forget you and how much you took care of us! Give Gammy kisses....xoxoxoxoxoxoxo
Love always - Pooper

The first time I met Rich, we danced a swing, an apt metaphor for Rich's upbeat and sunny disposition. I'll miss his smile and his sass. I send heartfelt condolences to his family.
