As a long time customer of his, I always found Rick to be kind and friendly. He conducted himself with great dignity in the face of his tough battle. I am saddened for his family, his friends, and also for those of us whose lives were brightened and inspired by this fine gentleman.

Rick was a great neighbor and friend. There are too, too many stories and memories I, (we), have of Rick, Bears games we went to, the many many dinner dates, we had as two couples, how I would see him coming across the street with two Old Styles to our kitchen to solve the problems of the day, or I would go over there, the swimming pool in the yard, and his statement "this is what we have been waiting for" in reference to the summer weather, and at the 4th of July, his declaration thst "summer is half over". What I will really miss is that every time he saw me or I saw him we would say 'NEIGHBOR" and always shake hands. I am upset with myself that I didn't go out to Crystal Lake more than I did after he moved. It was a sad day when he moved from Mount Prospect, and it is a sadder day now to know I will never see or hear him again. We have lost a great friend and a great person, God Bless him and his family.............NEIGHBOR!

To Travis and family, my deepest and sincerest condolences. As a father of one of my dearest friends he was never short of humor, friendship or opinion. I will always think of Rick Wittmeyer as the measuring tape for my aspirations as a father and friend. We will all miss him dearly. My love to the Wittmeyer family and all his friends that we may look for comfort in each other during this difficult time.

We are deeply saddened to hear of Rick's passing. My family has been a customer of J & B's (in both Mt. Prospect and A.H.) forever. Rick was such a wonderful family man. He will be missed dearly by all those who came in contact with him. Our thoughts are with you, this day and everyday.

I send my deepest sympathies to your family.
I met Rick 40 years ago because of my brother's friendship. The two Rick's! I remember how kind he always was to me, our parents and grandparents.
He always had a genuine smile warm enough to melt your heart and big enough to care about others.

We were sorry to hear of Rick's passing. During the many years that we shopped at his J & B Meat Market in Mt. Prospect, and later in Arlington Heights, Rick was a caring, and dedicated person. Always taking time to ask about you, he was genuine, and helpful to all. He will be missed.

Rick was quite a guy and a nice man. He will be missed. He always had a kind word to say to my kids when we would all stop in J & B Meats on Saturday mornings. I'll bet he was glad to see that the Packers won yesterday.

Your Ricky, your dad and your grandpa will always be Big Ricky to us. He was always there for us, One time i didn't know where my Rick was, and wow, big Ricky did, he got out of his sleeping bed and delivered my Rick to me. As Travis' friend growing up, I'm grateful to have known Mr Wittmeyer. Visiting his house, he wouldn't let anyone get by him. He would talk to each of us, genuinely get to know who we were and then welcome us back anytime. We'll miss him.

To Rickies Family,
No one can know just what you've lost;
No one can understand the cost;
But when you feel your energy drain,
Please count on us to help ease your pain.
Let us help you cope with grief;
We hope with time you'll feel relief.
We can't replace the one who's gone,
But let our concern help you carry on.
Love Don and Gail
