Rick N. Lenell
Rick Nils Lenell (68) passed away on July 15, 2021. Rick was raised in Wauconda IL by his parents Nils Lenell and Delores (Vivaqua) Lenell. Following high school he enrolled in cosmetology school to become a master hairstylist. He worked in various venues in downtown Chicago, including the prestigious Vidal Sassoon Salon, Paul Glick and many other high end shops on the Northshore. Rick's talent and hard work ultimately led him to opening his own shop within his home in Chicago.

Rick was loved by all of his clients, many following him for more than 30 years. You could always count on him for an excellent haircut, a good ear and subsequent counsel, even if you didn't want to hear it!

Rick's creative talents soared beyond hair styling, he was an accomplished fine artist including drawing, painting and printmaking. He also loved nature and the art of gardening.

Rick fought the good fight against an uncooperative body for many years, preventing him from enjoying his many creative passions. His diagnosis was progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). He is survived by his loving husband Marc Frazer and cherished sisters Diane Bittner (Bradenton FL), Noreen Coy (Tucson, AZ), kind and thoughtful niece Kelly Sassi (Chicago) and many more nieces and nephews and incredible friends. He is and will be missed.

Oh, my dear cousin. Sweet Ricky. I am trying to take comfort knowing you are no longer suffering. It is with such incredible sadness that I am saying goodbye. Memories will have to suffice, until,as you told me, "I love you. See you on the other side".

There will only ever be 1 uncle Rick. Always interested in you and your life wherever talking to him. A treat to have him and Marc at family gatherings. A presence that was special and a void that will never be filled.
