Robert Joseph Long, 82, of Barrington, formerly of Evanston, at rest May 28, 2003. Retired from Illinois Bell after 45 years of service. Beloved husband of Else T., nee Westphal and the late Mary Ellen, nee Moylan, and Mildred nee Fountain; devoted father of Margie Long, Dr. Noreen Long, Kathy (Bill) Schirmang, Judy (Mark Zembryki) Long, Bill (Marja) Long; step son Karl Schulz; cherished grandfather of Carl Mitchem, Todd, Tina and Ryan Schirmang, Jennifer Tarvin, Patty and Gabriella Long, Varo and Ana Zembryki, Kimberly and Karl J. Schulz; a great grandson Carlitos Mitchem. Visitation Sunday 3 to 8 p.m. at Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake-Cook Rd.), Barrington. Mass of Christian Burial Monday 10 a.m. at St. Anne Church, corner of Franklin and Ela Streets, Barrington where he will lie in state from 9 a.m. until time of Mass. Interment Mount Carmel Cemetery, Hillside. In lieu of flowers memorials to Barrington VFW Post 7706, P.O. Box 472, Barrington, IL 60011 appreciated. For info 847-381-3411.

Uncle Bob,



Rest in Peace and thank you for all the great memories when i was a little girl, making me laugh, making me feel special, all the times i could not wait to sit on your lap. Thank you for all of your kindness and love. I will miss you.

ps. thank you for all of your help setting up my wedding and just being there.
