His wife, daughter Mary, brother Edward and sister Patricia Shortall preceded him in death. One brother survives, Richard, of California. Bob worked as a bank executive in the greater Chicago area, retiring to Scottsdale, AZ. He raised his children in Homewood, IL. He was a devoted husband and an exemplary, loving father. Per his wishes, Bob donated his body to medical research. There will be a private memorial at a later date.

He carried me while I asked what's this, what's that? He doctored us when we were sick. In the blizzard of 67 he made a sled out of my skis and hiked back with supplies for the neighborhood. He never let a stray animal go hungry. He watched the cuban missle crisis and almost cried. He was my dad. He is with the stars now, and with my love.

i feel lost without you dad. we grew closer every day and I know we both hoped to share many more, but I also know it was your time. You were a wonderful father, role model, and friend. I miss you more each day, but so glad to be with you at the end. I love you dad.

Bob Maroney was a wonderful father. I have often said I could not have done better if I could have hand-picked my parents from a catalog. He was honorable, loving, mentally sharp and quick witted. I am so thankful for him, and that he was able to live in him own home, with my brother's assistance, to the last moment of his life. He gave us many happy memories, and he will be dearly missed.
